11/04/08 - Enjoy Destroy @ Newcastle Carling Academy

As the heavily phasered closing chords of ‘Screamer’ rang out, the crowd finally got a chance to catch their breath from the arse kicking that Enjoy Destroy had just handed them.

Fresh from a Europe wide support slot with Alter Bridge, Enjoy Destroy steamed ferociously through each melodic chorus and overdriven riff from debut album ‘Little Dreams’. Sitting firmly between the territories of Biffy Clyro and the Foo Fighters, the band somehow managed to elevate their amazing recorded output even further thanks to an energetic exuberance presumably provided by a constant drip of Red Bull. This is a band to watch!

‘Little Dreams’ is available now.

Downsides: Lighting wasnt great tonight for some reason and the ‘photo pit’ was a joke! Comprising of about 1 square foot in which I could only tuck my knees up under my chin, I was jammed in between monitor and barrier, restricted to a seating position that I couldn’t move from.

Upside: Photo pass allowed me to shoot all night tonight instead of the usual 3 song rule, so I sacked the pit of and did things the old fashioned way - front of the barrier with the rest of the lunatics!
