26/11/2008 - Heavens Basement @ Newcastle City Hall

Sleazy dirty riffs are the name of the game for the HB camp - loud and proud! Ladies and Gentlemen, Heavens Basement are my tip for the breakout band of 2009.
In an all seater venue like City Hall, most bands would assume their role of support act obediently and chug through a half hour set without trying to disturb the patrons too much.
Not Heavens Basement .
By the end of song three, Sid is shirtless as he tears apart the stage (its been a while since I’ve seen such a promising young guitar hero in the making - maybe even since that guy with curly black hair and the tophat, whats his name again?) and Richie is politely informing the audience that he’ll make them all stand up one by one if he has to. Johny, Rob and Chris all hold their arms aloft, beckoning the crowd to join the party and City Hall is just another venue thats been steamrollered by HB’s wall of sound.
To be fair, I shouldnt have been surprised. The first time I saw the band was supporting Bon Jovi in Manchester, and the reaction they got there was equally as good - and then to personify what the ban is all about, the next time I saw them was in a dinghy corner of a bar in Middlesbrough. The thing is - these guys just don’t care. If theres a place to play, they’ll play it as hard as the possibly can.
If they continue to work hard and produce sets as good as this, it won’t be long before they are selling out Stadiums themselves, and it wont be a moment too soon.
Check them out guys please, do yourself a favour.

I agree 100%!!! These guys are immense!! I cant beleive they’re not signed already..
I saw them for the first time not too long ago at a show supporting ‘Shinedown’ and when i saw the ticket said special guests i thought it would just be a local band of teenagers getting started.
But these guys absolutly tore the place down to the ground, they are incredible! I am now one of their very biggest fans.
I was lucky enough to meet them after the show outside and they are such really really nice guys aswell, i think they’ll go really far in this bisuness and im rooting for them 100%
Sid is an insaaaaaaaane guitarist! Esspecially for someone so young!
Chris is a really lovley guy with brilliant taste in music (He was wearing an Iron Maiden shirt when i met him haha)
And Richie’s voice is just like heaven (haha, no pun intended there) He sounds like the lead singer from AC/DC
I need to see these guys in concert again, and i need to meet them again haha.
Great Reveiw, Great Pictures, Amazing guys, Incredible band!!

This review is perfect, seen them enough times to know it’s EXACTLY as described. Met them every time near enough and they’re such amazing guys. I couldn’t believe they aren’t signed when I found out, straight to the top I say. Amazing guys, great review.
